For nearly 23 years Eastside Human Services has been a cornerstone nonprofit for East King County: bringing together municipal and school district elected officials, human services providers, faith-based leaders, healthcare organizations and business leaders for critical conversations related to complex human services issues. As we enter 2024 the Forum board and staff affirm a renewed commitment to bettering the lives of people residing on the Eastside through strengthening and deepening the Eastside human services network.
Building on a successful year of developmental work, the Forum’s 2024-2029 strategic plan is underway. And, we have a new Executive Director – Elisa Petersen – who is charged with turning the collective ideas gathered last year into impactful reality. This includes:
- Six Forums during 2024 (with a combination of in person and online events)
- Greater engagement with the business community
- An online chat feed for real time conversations about important issues
- Continued commitment to lifting the voices of underrepresented communities
- Completing all of the Strategic Plan’s first year objectives
- Outreach to and inclusion of people with lived experience
- Building community advocacy and solutions…one voice at a time
